On Ormskirk's Obsession with Moonlight
Sorry, I didn't manage to write an entry last night after doing the shopping, and two loads of washing and the dishes and tidying up.
I'd like to write a little something about a topic people outside Ormskirk Scouts perhaps don't fully understand - that is our obsession with Moonlight and Alcatraz.
You see, there's an entire generation (actually about five generations!) of Scouts and Leaders in Ormskirk who have been brought up on these events. The prestige of winning lasts throughout the year. Preparations begin months before each events with pratices such as the Explorer Mini Moonlight and Zartacla (Alcatraz backwards - geddit?!).
If you're in Explorers or Network outside Ormskirk, rememeber that you're welcome to take part in Alcatraz - second weekend of July so put it in your diary now!
